What's up in 500?

School Skating wrapped up for another year this week.  Our Grade 5's had a blast out on the ice with their friends! Some of us even got to show off our moves!

We have been learning about various phases in matter in science and the changes they go through. Earlier this month we conducted an experiment by mixing cornstarch and water.

Congratulations to our two award winners for October!
Anteneh Miller always works hard to get through his recess circuit.  He is active on the playground, and always gives 110% during Phys. Ed!
Kade MacDonald gets to work after recess without hesitation.  He consistantly works hard, especially when work gets challenging! Great job Kade and Anteneh!

Congratulations to our two award winners for September!
Jasmine for In Motion - For having a great attitude toward physical activity, being such a great asset to our Cross Country Team, and encouraging others to do their best in P.E. classes.
Spencer for the most value-able student- for continuously demonstrating the value of belonging in our classroom.  Spencer has gone out of his way to make our new students feel that sense of belonging in the halls of Davison while helping all students feel a part of the team.
Way to go Jasmine and Spencer!

The second week of school marked the kick-off of reading buddies for students of 500.  We've teamed up with Miss Hough's Kindergarten class to spend 40 minutes per week taking turns reading with a student in K.  Students in 500 get to take on a leadership role with these students and model some great reading practices for them!
